203 k

Today we went to our "new house" with this guy that does the 203 k loan, to see what we had to fix up. He was going through and inspecting it all, and we had to give him a list of what we wanted.

He probably thought we were nuts! We gave him so many things that we want to change... from floors to fireplaces to windows to light fixtures... you name it, we wanted it fixed.

Im just worried that not all of it will get done... then ill be forced to live in some gross house. Its going to be cutting it close too, we have to close on march 15th and then get all the work done and move in by march 31st. I feel like ive written about that already... hmmmm

Anyways, john and i went to look at Lowes for ideas after, we got bored pretty quick. I have no idea how to match colors and textures and what looks good with what!!

We ate at Plaza Azteca too, which was ok seeing that we were semi fighting the whole lunch.

Tommorrow we are supposed to get the estimate for how much all the repairs will cost.. good luck to us!!

Fired Up

Tonight we went and saw the movie fired up. We invited a bunch of kids from church to go, making it clear that we were just GOING to the movie, not that we were trying to make it a sanctioned youth church event (this has presented a problem in the past). Someone said they thought it was going to be dirty, so we decided to see Taken instead. However, lynnhaven on a friday night is not the best night to catch a movie. It was sold out, so we saw fired up anyways. Turns out, it was really dirty, and ESPECIALLY since we brought the youth,  John and I (and rachel and Jenni) decided to leave the movie and go get a refund. So if you are thinking about seeing it, dont, because its a waste of time!!! 

Tommorrow I (jen) have to work at 8am. I have been out of the store for 2 weeks, so its going to be good to get back into it. I was at this management training program in maryland. It was a really good training! Learned alot about leadership and how to deal with people etc... so hopefully I  can put it all into action tommorrow! 

John has church in the morning, and then we have the 40 days of community kickoff luau at 530. They are roasting a pig at our church!!! hahah So that should be fun. We are also starting our small group Tuesday night, so hopefully that goes well.

Our house is SEMI clean for once which is really nice. Too bad w,e have to start packing soon and moving! Oh yeah which brings me to my next point... today we went and icked out tile, carpet, sinks and my personal favorite HARDWOOD FLOORS for our new townhouse. See we bought it foreclosed, so there is some work to be done. Luckily we are getting a loan wrapped into our mortgage so we can get everything done! tenative close date is March 15th, which is cutting it a little close because we have to be out of our apartment by March 31st.  That doesnt seem like enough time to fix up a house and move in! But i have been assured that it can be pulled off. So im sure you will see how that goes in future blogs.

First one!!

So we are new to the world of blogging!! Enter John and Jen Chappell. Scene one! We got married about ten months ago, and live in virginia beach. I (jen) thought it would be nice to start writing about things we are doing and thinking, so we could look back on it later in life. Man I gotta learn to type better, every other word I have to stop, backspace, and fix it :)

So here it starts.

Like I said we have been married 10 months. Its been pretty good so far! We just bought a townhouse, its so exciting! We love virginia beach, although its hard to be away from family. Jens are in NY and Johns in Michigan. John is a youth pastor at vineyard community church, Jen is a sales supervisor at Verizon Wireless. We both love our jobs. 

 

So lets lay some ground rules for this bloogging. 

1) We are new to this, so be nice :)

2) I (Jen) am horrible at typing, and I will probably doing most of the typing, so we are going to ignore misspelled words and not capitalized I's.
